Living with epilepsy means fighting battles most people never see. Beyond the visible seizures lies a daily cognitive war: brain fog that clouds your thinking, memory gaps that erase important moments, and attention challenges that make even simple tasks feel overwhelming.
For Danny, this reality became increasingly difficult to navigate. Over the years, he cycled through 15 different anti-seizure medications, each with its own constellation of side effects. Many of these medications, while necessary, further compromised his cognitive function – creating a frustrating cycle where treating one problem worsened another.
When not 1 but 2 brain surgeries became necessary & with the help of an inserted RNS (Responsive Neuro Stimulator) device to help control his seizures, he faced yet another cognitive challenge: the recovery process and its impact on mental clarity, focus, and memory.
